National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
Last week our Principal Mr Langes sent out a letter to all families explaining the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data. As a reference this letter will be available on the QSchools App. The NCCD provides all Australian schools, education authorities and the community with information on the number of students receiving educational adjustments in schools because of disability, and the levels of adjustment that are provided to enable them to participate in education on the same basis as other students.
A broad range of disabilities are identified in this collection, for example students with:
Physical (anaphylaxis, diabetes, Cerebral Palsy, childhood cancer or diseases)
Cognitive (dyslexia, ASD, Developmental Language delays, cognitive delays)
Social Emotional (anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, ASD)
Sensory (vision impairment or low vision, hearing loss, hard of hearing or deaf)
We are guided by the Disability Discrimination Act 1992
The collection records the level of adjustments made to support a student’s engagement and participation in learning. These range from in-class, teacher based quality differentiation, to students who require intensive ongoing support to access all areas of learning. Please feel free to refer to the NCCD portal for a deeper understanding of this collection https://www.nccd.edu.au/
