Commencing in 2015 Broadbeach State School introduced a quality school dance program offering jazz dance classes before and after school. Building on the success of 2015, the program was expanded in 2019 to include 13 troupes from Prep to Year 6, including an Elite Troupe. A major highlight each year is The Arts Gala at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre.
DanceXcel lessons include warm-ups, stretches, strengthening exercises, jazz steps/progressions, dance routines and performance techniques.
Students are taught by qualified dance teachers and are prepared for a range of school/community performances offered throughout the school year. Some of these may include Danc'eD in the Spotlight, Gold Coast Eisteddfod, school performances, Christmas Carols and the culminating Arts Gala.
