A very special 'Thank you'
Friday 26th of November, the day of the Broadbeach School awards ceremony, was a truly memorable day. I received my fourth consecutive Academic Award, which pleased me greatly. The presentation of the DuX award was the last item of the day and, as I waited for the name to be called out, I reflected on who I thought was worthy of such a prestigious prize. To hear my name called out was nothing short of unbelievable; In fact, I'm still struggling to make sense of it, but I feel deeply honoured.
Although I realise that this is the culmination of all my hard work, I don't believe it would've been possible without the support and dedication of all my teachers i.e Ms Sessarago (Prep), Mr White (Yr1), Ms Carney and Ms Brookfield (Yr2), Ms Galvin (Yr3), Mr Walker (Yr4), Ms Kurt and Mr O'Brien (Yr5) and Ms Keith (Yr6), as well as Ms Hori (Japanese), Ms Tetlow and Ms Adely (Academy / Extension program), Mr Phipps (Music) and Mr Smith (Sports). I am very grateful for their commitment and diligence to our education.
To all the friends I've made over the years, it's sad that we are soon going our separate ways, but I'm very thankful for the fun times and your friendship. Gold Coast isn't that big so I'm sure that our paths will cross again.
I could not have achieved this without the love, support and guidance from my parents who I love with all my heart.
As this is the end of my primary school journey, I want to take this opportunity to extend a very special 'Thank you' to all of you who've contributed to making it such a success.
